5 Local WA Beers Enjoyed By Black Stone Brewers

Black Stone Brewers are an alternative rock band from Perth.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Black Stone Brewers first broke into the live scene by taking out the Camfield Battle Of The Bands in October 2020 and have played numerous local venues since then.

In April, they won the Freo.Social Battle Of The Bands, hosted by local music advocate Big Tommo Presents.

This garnered the Brewers a new following and set the stage for bigger things in the near future, including a single recording and release.

Black Stone Brewers are: Robert Thomas (lead vocals/ rhythm guitar); Joanthan Maltman (lead vocals/ keyboard/ rhythm guitar); Stefan Aydon-White (lead guitar); Simon Saddick (bass guitar); Blair Jeffares (drums).

"The Brewers are thrilled to finally release our first single into the world, after taking out the Freo.Social Battle Of The Bands in April, hosted by local legend Big Tommo Presents.

"We headed into the studio with Tristan Sturmer and Fraser Cringle to record, and had it mixed by Matt Templeman.

"'Tired Eyes' starts soft, eerie and groove laden, with haunting vocals exploring the darker side of human behaviour, and ends with a heavy, driving bang. We can't wait to share it with everyone and celebrate at the release party on at the Rosemount Hotel."

The band also have a love for an ice-cold frosty beer. "We work hard brewing up something unique and bit heavy for the Perth music scene in the jam room, and after a hard days tune-taming there's nothing better than a good, cold beer.

"We love local, and so here are our favourite brews from around WA, as well as what we think of each others choices. "As you can tell we don't always see eye to eye, but conflict leads to progress! We look forward to downing a few bevvies with you all at the single launch."
