5 Horror Movies Circles Wants You To Watch

Circles share their 5 favourite horror films.

Melbourne prog rockers Circles have had a busy 2022 as they edge closer to releasing their new EP.

Four years removed from their last studio album ('The Last One'), the trio have so far released the singles 'Sleepwalking' and 'Dig', and last month dropped the third track from their upcoming EP 'The Stories We Are Afraid Of | Vol.1' (due 25 November).

'Echo' is another serving of the band's metallic chugging guitars that also features a belting blast from the drums and serene atmospheric pads, the song detailing themes of self-reflection and desperation.

"'Echo' is 'Vol. 1''s lowest point, emotionally," frontman Ben Rechter says. "It deals with being well and truly at the bottom, feeling as though you deserve the hopelessness that you feel.

"Even if that's not a true reflection of the situation, sometimes those inner voices block out all others with a relentless drone."

Ahead of the release of 'The Stories We Are Afraid Of | Vol.1', the band share five of their favourite horror films.

1: It Follows

A really solid film that proves you don't need loads of special fx and jump scares to be truly terrifying. A must watch.

2: A Nightmare On Elm St 3

One of my all-time favourites. I particularly chose part 3 as it's equally brutal as it is hilarious.

3: The Exorcist (1973)

This film is simply just cooked. How this was made in 1973 and can still disturb the hell out of anyone that watches now is simply genius.

4: Midsommar

If you can get through this film without being as confused as your are sick, you win.

5: Sinister

Who doesn't like watching home movies of possessed families doing terrible things to each other?
