A folk singer-songwriter with stories to sing and songs to tell, Perth's Georga Raath has been busy during these COVID times writing and working in the studio.
Now Georga is stepping out of her hidey-hole to present her debut single 'Crooked Kingdom' at a local launch show later this month."I've worked so hard on this event and I couldn't be more excited to share with you my debut single.
"Bring your mum, your dad, your brother, your sister, aunty, uncle, friend, partner and everyone else you know because this one is gonna be big."
Here, Georga shares a few general rules (that aren't technically rules) she wishes everyone would follow.
Don't be a dick
Pretty self explanatory (and obvious I know) but you'd be surprised by how many people struggle with this.Escalators
Stand on the left, walk on the right. Leave the right side free for people who are in a rush or perhaps who have less patience, that way you get to chill and they have a clear path to zoom to the top – everybody wins.Right lane etiquette
Don't drive in the right lane if you're going to go 10km under the speed limit. Mate, that's what the left lane is for.Don't judge people who hold high opinions of themselves
Self love is not easy to come by and so when a person has finally managed to find it within them to love themselves, the absolute last thing we should be doing is trying to demolish that.Even if you think they're being arrogant, if it's not directly affecting you and your well-being, move on, let them be and consider seeking some happiness within yourself.
Love for the joy of loving
Love is such a beautiful, warm feeling and I think as a society we believe that in order to love we have to be loved in return, which I disagree with.If everyone made a conscious decision to hold onto whatever love they felt for people regardless of the feelings returned, we would all be a lot happier.
Georga Raath plays Rosemount Hotel (Perth) 17 July.
