An accidental band (of sorts) that formed between two sisters (Abbey and Mia) and their cousin (Jaymi) who would perform together at family gatherings, the Little Quirks have become a beacon of Australia's indie folk scene in the time since they first emerged in 2015.
Fresh from a tour of the US where they performed in Nashville, New York and at SXSW, Little Quirks' newest single is 'The Rain', a brilliant song that adds bright pop tones and country-rock textures to the group's repertoire. With a trip to the UK in May planned where they're play The Great Escape, Little Quirks next on-stage stop will be National Folk Festival in Canberra during the Easter long weekend.
"The weekend really has such an amazing line-up. Going to be sooooo fun!" beams Little Quirks.
Here, Abbey shares five of her favourite TV shows of all time.
1: 'Friends'
Starting the list is the iconic and my personal favourite, 'Friends'. I started watching 'Friends' with my parents at seven years old. Not sure if I understood any of the jokes! But I fell in love with the stories and chemistry of the cast.To this day, it will always be my comfort/ go-to binging show.
2: 'Game Of Thrones'
I discovered GOT later then everyone else (in lockdown actually). BUT once I found it, I watched it all in three weeks. I loved the medieval, magical way the show was set and driven by the most amazing cast.GOT is my go-to show when I want to escape and dive in to a different world.
PS. Arya is my favourite. Oh and also, I know this is controversial but I love 'The Long Night' episode in Season 8.
3: 'Kath & Kim'
An Australian classic and one very close to my heart. This show has been a favourite of mine throughout my childhood. I love the hilarious family dynamic and the salt of the earth attitude.Kath and Kel are the ultimate couple goals and I can only dream that one day I'll have what they have.
4: 'The Office' (American version)
Another iconic TV show that represents characters we all have met throughout our lives. 'The Office' is a show I can binge for hours and never fails to make me laugh.I don't think I could pick my favourite character, but my favourite line would have to be: "I'm not superstitious, but I am a little stitious." - Michael Scott.
5: 'Dance Moms'
Now, I know I'm meant to be ashamed of watching reality TV, but I LOVE this show. I started watching it when I was 9 or 10 years old, so I was similar age to the girls on the show. The drama, the cast and the amazing dancing/ choreography had me entertained for hours.
I also have to admit that I learnt many of their competition routines and performed them for my family. I had big dreams of auditioning for Abby Lee, yet I didn't really dance so I'm not sure why I thought that was a possibility.
