Blurring the lines between real life and virtual reality, Gig VR will host a series of events with the first to feature veteran lo-fi punks Bleeding Knees Club.
Designed to be enjoyed IRL or at home, Gig VR captures all the antics of the night's gig with their 360° technology that is then live streamed giving those who missed out on tickets a chance to enjoy the show – or punters a chance to re-live the experience – from every angle.
Gig VR co-founder Phil Sheen has a special connection with Bleeding Knees Club. “We first started filming bands at The Zoo and one of our very first was Bleeding Knees Club; it's great to come full circle and launch the event series where we started.”
Ahead of the show, the Gold Coast rockers share five of their favourite spam emails. “Spam emails are the most positive emails you can get. So much giving, love and money. I probably got a few viruses from opening these.”
1. We can make love on a desert island
Firstly, a desert island sounds so horrible. I think they meant deserted. But anyway, a dry desert with sand and no water and maybe camels and scorpions isn't where I wanna have sex.
2. May peace be with you
I like the name Amelia Boris. I'm sorry if you really are going through kidney cancer; the gesture is really nice but I have to decline. I feel sorry for her mainly because her husband's family sound like dicks, and she seems really humiliated.
3. In case you don't actually mind
This girl is real full of herself. But the best part is the sign off. Sincerely, Truly, Best regards, All the best. Choose one.
4. If you want to know if size is important to me, yes it is, but more importantly this size is
I really like that sentence. Christy is crazy. I also like 'if you are attracted with a bodies'.
5. Sorry my computer crashed
Gig VR hosts Bleeding Knees Club at The Zoo (Brisbane) 24 January. Bleeding Knees Club also play Goodspace (Sydney) 15 February.
