5 Favourite Scents Shared By Georgia Hoareau

Georgia Hoareau is a pop singer-songwriter from Gold Coast, Australia.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

A two-time finalist at the 2022 Gold Coast Music Awards, Georgia Hoareau is an emerging 19-year-old bedroom pop singer-songwriter.

With her songwriting blending heartbroken lyrics with bright, airy production, Georgia is crafting her own niche with a kind of hopeful sadness through her songs.

Georgia's debut EP 'Wish Somebody Told Her', featuring five self-penned tracks that were independently recorded over an 18-month period, was released in February.

"I wrote all these songs between the ages of 16 and 18, and this EP really captures that period of my life. It feels like a lil time capsule that I'm more than happy to release.

"Thank you all for everyone's support. I'm incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have made this which has been put together completely independently. I hope you enjoy it."

Georgia uses her music to capture and make sense of her own experiences. Like personal diary entries, some are about real relationships, others come from her own insecurities or innermost observations.

"I feel like I use my songs to deal with my own things, so it's important for me to be honest, for me to get the song out," Georgia says.

With supports alongside Greta Stanley, Beckah Amani and Alex James Bowen, Georgia is ready to take her career to the next level. Here, she shares five of her favourite scents.

1: Billie Eilish perfume

I got the Billie Eilish perfume last Christmas, and it actually smells wonderful, and I get compliments on it all the time, so shoutout to Billie for making a delicious perfume.

2: Freshly baked bread

I went to an open home one time with my mum and the house smelt really nice and the real-estate agent said the best thing to do is bake bread and make coffee just before the open home, 'cause that's a comforting smell and will entice people. So that's when I learnt that bread smells marvellous, and I also love Baker's Delight.

3: Lemongrass

I'm not a big candle person, but if there's a candle to get me it's lemongrass scented. It's just an excellent smell.

4: Pancakes with maple syrup

I'm not sure if it's just maple syrup I like the smell of, but I'm going to include pancakes in this 'cause they're a great combo no matter what. Maple syrup and pancakes is just warm and sweet, and you know it tastes good therefore it is a superior smell.

5: Strawberry Shortcake

I had this doll when I was younger and it was called a Strawberry Shortcake Doll (if you haven't heard of it, Google it); she had long, red hair and it smelt like sweet strawberries and so it's a nostalgic smell overall for me.
