The next instalment of Fremantle Art Centre's nocturnal series Leave The Lights On takes place on Thursday (20 January).
The series sees the lights left on till late, so you have the chance to dance, drink and delve into art like never before with dance-floor bangers and lavish cocktails. It's art but not as you might expect. This week's music act features two dynamic women, one four-octave electronic marimba/ xylophone, eleven drum pads and up to six sticks hitting the triggers at any time to join the party. Meet Feels!
Perth-based percussionists Elise Reitze and Rosie Taylor blend percussion and electronics to produce rhythms of obscurity and vivid sound worlds.
Here, they share their five favourite Perth and Fremantle restaurants.
1: La Cabana - Fremantle
This place has the best Mexican food and a stunning cocktail list, what more do you want!? La Cabana is absolutely delish and such an enjoyable place to spend an evening.Tables are in high demand so we recommend getting down early. The wait is totally worth it!
2: Le Rebelle - Mt Lawley
If you like French food, look no further. We will do anything for the classic hors d'oeuvres Le Rebelle serves up. The crab toast, duck parfait and beef tartare are all essential items. GO NOW.
3: Young George - East Fremantle
We love snacks, but most of all, Young George's snacks. Oysters, octopus, beef tartare (yes we're obsessed), fried chicken milk buns and caviar hash browns. It's the food combination of your dreams.
4: Cariola - North Perth
Cariola is North Perth's best kept secret. They serve up the tastiest pasta dishes that will make you question your existence. Also, if you like cheese, listen up! Cariola serves a HOT cheese entree with garlic bread. We find ourselves thinking about this dish daily. Last but not least it's BYO ;)
5: Sunshine Harvester Works - Fremantle
This place has what we like and that is OPTIONS. Mexican, burgers, dumplings, you name it.What we are really into at this place is the ice cream. Stampede Gelato has so many flavour options it's silly. Try Speculaas, you won't regret it.
