Between getting early support from triple j Unearthed, to playing sold-out rooms around the country with Polaris, Parkway Drive, Make Them Suffer and Alpha Wolf, Daybreak have had a taste of the road and now they're starving for more.
Nominated for Most Popular Act and Most Popular Live Act at the 2019 WAMAwards, Daybreak's current release is the 'Godfather' EP that shows the band further refining their sound with three tracks coming from three different angles of the heavy genre.
Ahead of their showcase at WAMFest, the band's guitarist Blake Pearce lists his favourite live concert DVDs of all-time.
1: Bring Me The Horizon – Live At Royal Albert Hall
Accompanied by a live orchestra, BMTH have accomplished what is my dream to create – a full, musical experience.
2: Nirvana – Live and Loud
Nirvana play a perfect set including songs from what I think is their best record, ‘In Utero’, and using onstage props off the album cover. It’s a sick experience to watch and one I wish I was around to see in person.
3: Linkin Park/ Jay Z – Collision Course
Like McDonald's chips dipped into a soft-serve cone, it shouldn’t work but it does.
4: The Prodigy – World’s On Fire
The Prodigy are one of the most energetic, engaging bands and performers that has ever been. We strive as a band to create a similar experience and punch in as big of a live show as they do so effortlessly.
5: Rage Against The Machine – Live At The Grand Olympic
The kings of groove smashing out riffs I wish I had written. Another band I’d pay stupid amounts of money to see live.
Daybreak play WAMFest at Lucy's Love Shack (Perth) 2 November.
