5 Favourite Chip Toppings Selected By Alt-Pop Artist DANII

Brisbane-based alternative pop, electronic artist, DANII's newest single is titled 'What You Want'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Melbourne born, Brisbane-based genre-bending alternative pop, R&B artist, DANII wants to empower her audience by encompassing her sultry, moody and fearless nature through her music.

DANII's latest creative endeavour is 'What You Want', a personal song written after a failed relationship with someone in the industry who used her to get what he needed.

"I am a 31 year old independent female, POC artist living with a disability," DANII says, "with a mission to empower and inspire those that feel like they are in a minority or not represented in the world. I hope this song can be an anthem for that."

After a period away from music, DANII brought her career back to life earlier this year releasing the single 'Out Of My Mind' – a song she first wrote 15 years ago.

Her follow-up single is 'What You Want', which began life "as a joke in a writing session with my mates". DANII admits the song had a much longer incubation period to arrive at the finished product.

"This song actually went through a few different versions and producers before it became the track it is today.

"I listen back to my own initial production and think to myself how bad this song could've turned out. It almost had my very own rap verse. Thank god we scratched that lol!"

Here, DANII indulges her love for chip toppings; let the drooling begin.

5: Mac and cheese AND bolognese

I was recently introduced to this dish and I was equally satisfied as I was disgusted. Yummmmmm!

4: Maple bacon

If you have never had maple bacon, then you are missing out. It is the best mix of sweet and salty. Think sweet and salty popcorn, but with bacon. Everything is better with bacon.

3: Cheese curds & gravy/ poutine

Regular cheese is fine. Gravy on its own is also a contender, but something about this Canadian dish with the traditional cheese curd is far superior.

2: Tomato sauce

Particularly amazing when accompanied by fish and chips. And speaking of fish and chips.

1: Chicken salt

Although some would argue tomato sauce AND chicken salt together, I dare you to fight me that there is a better topping for chips.

'What You Want' is available now.
