5 Favourite Arnold Schwarzenegger Flexes Selected By Brisbane Band Fresco Kyoto

Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Brisbane indie pop band Fresco Kyoto have spent the majority of the past year away from the spotlight, honing their influences via experimentation into their own flavour.

"This past year has been one full of experimentation both in sound as well as our creative process. We have explored new and exciting writing techniques, and opened our minds to alternative imagery and textures," Fresco Kyoto says.

The result is the incredible new single 'Whatever You Say', which explores emotional connections that derail because of unseen barriers. Give it a couple of spins and it'll be part of your regular play list in no time. Trust.

"'Whatever You Say' is about feeling you could have an emotional connection with someone, except there are unseen barriers preventing anything from happening. And even though you know it's possible things could change, in reality you know that it's more likely they won't," Fresco Kyoto says.

With 'Whatever You Say' – that was co-written and co-produced by Aidan Hogg (Jaguar Jonze, Holy Holy, Hatchie) – the band's first new music since last year's EP 'Crave For Colour', here they delve into their inner Arnie to select their favourite 5 flexes by the former Governor of California. More energy!

1: Predator (1987)

I'll never forget the first time I heard: "Dillon! You son of a bitch." This scene paved the way for one of the finest meme templates of the 2010s.

2: Total Recall (1990)

Not only is he a great actor, but it turns out Arnie is good on the tools too! This one resembles those sexy fireman calendars Nan has been buying you for your birthday for the past three years.

3: Conan The Barbarian (1982)

You can see that Arnie always had his beach bod ready to go. It's no wonder he fit the mould of Conan the Barbarian so well.

4: Kindergarten Cop (1990)

Another entry from 1990 – it looks to have been a successful year for the big man.

5: Commando (1985)

Even while wielding a rocket launcher you have to wonder whether there is more firepower in his biceps.
