Earlier this month, indie folksters The Winter Gypsy released their debut EP, 'Page I', which features the soaring single 'Took Me By'.
“The song itself is about the uncertainty and fragility of situations that are out of your control,” the group's lead vocalist Tushar Singh says. “Despite the minimal lyrics, the song resonates this message through the specific choice of words.”

The Adelaide six-piece started a mini tour at the weekend with a show in Melbourne; they have further shows in Adelaide (2), Canberra and Sydney in September. Ahead of those shows, the band share five Adelaide music acts you should be tuning your ears to. Thanks guys :)
Ollie English
I remember this dude introducing himself to me a while I was at work; not knowing who he was and we just started talking about music. I soon discovered his unbelievable talent and I haven't stopped listening to his music since. Listening to Ollie play live has been one of the best performances I have seen in Adelaide to date. This blues/ rock feel that he's taken on is doing some serious wonders for him.Honestly, I think he's revolutionary; and it's going to be awesome watching his progress as a musician. He's simply just a man that deserves to be heard; and he also steals all the food in my house. Cheers Ollie.
The Montreals
Great friends of ours, The Montreals. Not only are these boys young, fresh and so clean, they're also crafting some amazing tunes to get your body grooving. They're definitely making a name for themselves around Adelaide. If you're a fan of The Jungle Giants, The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys; then you're going to love these guys. Great attitude on and off the stage. What a bunch of cookers.Zen Panda
I caught these lovely dudes playing earlier this year. I had no idea what to expect, but I was instantly filled with a nice, full psych/ rock sound; and man these legends know how to groove. Not only were they sounding good, but their stage presence managed to get the whole place moving around. I love that in the live performance. These Pandas deserve some attention.Hunt
I remember when I met Hunt, she was just starting out, trying to get a name for herself, which she's accomplishing now. Watching her grow into what she is now has been amazing to watch. She's really fine tuning her alt-pop/ soul style, which is great to see. Seeing her latest show has been one of her best performances for sure. Her voice just gets better and better. Great sound and so charismatic now. I love it.Bec Stevens
I've only recently discovered Bec, but man am I glad I did. I saw her live at her EP launch quite recently and she blew me away. You can instantly tell that she really sings from the bottom of her heart; and I can tell you right now, everyone was feeling every emotion she was giving out. It's hard to come by artists that are so true to their style of music where they just throw everything they've got on the table. What a show; I am definitely a fan of her work. I'm excited to see what else she's got to offer. The Winter Gypsy Tour Dates
