One of the country's premiere rock-pop cover bands, Sydney's Royale With Cheese focus on the decade of the 1990s.
From the Seattle-sound to grunge as well as Britpop and all the best Oz rock from the '90s Royale With Cheese weave it all together to provide a nostalgic evening featuring hits from the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, to Radiohead, Blur and Oasis as well as Silverchair, You Am I and Screaming Jets.Come as you are to smash pumpkins and rage against the '90s.
Here, the band each list their favourite album from the 1990s.
Sasha (vox): Mr Bungle - self-titled (1991)
Changed my life, my concepts of what is musically possible, and made me decide to be a musician.
Al (lead guitar): Tool - 'Ænima' (1996)
Musically, I love the way Tool uses odd time signatures and polyrhythms, giving an almost tribal feel that comes together like clockwork. Thematically, the lyrics contain metaphors and stories that offer deep introspection of the self when read between the lines.
Nick (rhythm guitar): Alice In Chains - 'Dirt'
I was stunned. So impressed I named my son Lain (Layne Staley).
Jeremy (bass): The Living End - self-titled (1998)
The first album I listened to all the way through and liked every song. Plus they always put on a belter of a show and the album does a brilliant job of capturing that energy. Aussie rock represent.
David (drums): Dave Matthews Band - 'Crash' (1996)
This was my introduction to the band who would introduce me to my wife and so many great friends and memories on tour. Still a killer live act too.
