Independent Perth singer-songwriter, Philip La Rosa's new single is the electronic-infused, dark-pop ballad 'Baggage'.
A personal song about unwrapping trauma with another person, once the baggage had been removed a strong friendship and fresh inspiration emerged."I think being honest and vulnerable allowed me to truly connect with someone on a much deeper level," Philip says.
"Everyone needs to let their walls down and talk about what's on their mind."
With so much uncertainly flowing through the world in 2020, Philip has selected five empowering songs to inspire you daily. "This was so hard! But at the moment, these beautiful songs and artists are getting me through each day.
"You'll find these beats on my Reborn playlist, which I listen to every single day without fail."
1: Annika Grace - 'Anybody Out There'
We all feel alone sometimes and it's easy to forget that we're not the only one feeling that way.Annika's smooth vocals and beautiful lyrics will help you remember that you're not alone in this massive world. Dope video too I might add.
2: Sia - 'Saved My Life'
I love that every song can be interpreted differently by every listener and to me. Depending on the day, this song I belt out as if I'm singing to my past self and other days, to my partner.3: P!nk - 'What About Us'
'What about love? What about trust? What about us?! We are problems that want to be solved. We are children that need to be loved.' Just some of the lyrics to this song that speak volumes.4: Au/Ra - 'Panic Room'
While this song sounds dark, for me it's empowering and removes the daunting nature of facing your fears.Embrace those fears, hold them close to you and learn how to handle life with them by your side. Welcome to the panic room.
5: Thandi Phoenix - 'My Way'
'At the end of the day, they're gonna say what they wanna say.' What a lyric. When all your cards are on the table, no one can hold you down or hold your flaws against you. Everything is out in the open and you're one step closer to emotional freedom. Do it your way.
