The music of singer, songwriter, musician, poet and literary genius Bob Dylan will be celebrated when a quintet of Australian singers perform 'Bob Dylan Revisited', with concerts in Melbourne and Sydney this May.
John Waters, Glenn Shorrock, Wendy Matthews, Doug Parkinson and Wes Carr (who are all staunch Dylan fans) will take to the stage, performing and interpreting some of the great songs from the Bob Dylan songbook.
From 'Blowin' In The Wind' to 'Like A Rolling Stone', 'Hurricane' to 'Knocking On Heaven's Door' – songs that have defined a generation, created a movement for change and went on to influence generations of writers and artists since the mid-20th century.
"Dylan got to me (or I got to him) straight away - no filter. I told my friends there was this guy in the States who picks an acoustic guitar and sings through his nose. I also heard him do a 'talking blues', and the hipness of that got me in," John Waters says.
