5 Beloved Snacks Shared By Melbourne Duo GL

Melbourne duo GL newest single is titled 'Contagious'.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Melbourne-based duo GL (aka Graeme Pogson and Ella Thompson) are following up a busy few months with their second single release of the year, 'Contagious'.

The pair are climbing to the forefront of Australia’s electronic scene once more with an esteemed left-centre lens.

Taking a turn from the moodier elements of earlier single 'Night Habit', GL have dipped their new single and eclectic grooves in a pot of warm textures, hard-hitting percussion and wobbling synths that hook the mind and body.

Here, they share 5 beloved snacks that assist when entering the studio for a jam session.

“We are lucky to make our music in a studio that has been around since the '70s in North Fitzroy. It is important to nourish this space and set the vibe before jam commencement. A large part of this is sustenance to get us through the brain fuzz.”

1: Butter beans with olive oil, cumin seeds and carrot

Our studio partner and long-time collaborator, Jacky Winter, can whip up a nutritious snack with seemingly nothing in the kitchen. This combo is a particular favourite.

2: Green curry and/ or pad see ew

Local restaurant GLER provides the goods when it comes to Thai delicacies. Their service is suspiciously swift.

3: Shanklish pies

Ella previously lived in Coburg and was the provider of pies until recently, but luckily WOW Bakery has opened around the corner to fill the void.

4: Tangelos

The refreshing citrus tang of the Tangelo is unsurpassed and keeps the mind and body alert.

5: Peppermint tea

Always essential to accompany GL snacking sessions.

'Contagious' is available now.
