5 Band Jokes Provided By Cisco Caesar

Cisco Caesar
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

It has taken over two years, a near-death experience and a tumour the size of a golf ball, but Cisco Caesar will finally head north for launch shows of their debut album, 'Burnt And Broken', this weekend.

An alt-blues foursome heavily influenced by old soul, funk, vintage rock and country, Cisco Caesar share their favourite, in-house band jokes.

1. Referring to our drummer's testicles as his 'Pugballs'. This is because he is actually a former child TV star from the series 'Pugwall' and 'Pugwall's Summer'.

2. Cisco has a lovely baritone voice, but likes to soundcheck the mic with a cartoonish, high voice and introduce himself as Caesar. This is because Caesar gets all the attention after the show for hitting super-awesome high notes.

3. After pandering to the crowd for multiple cheers, Cisco will occasionally ask the crowd to cheer for the act of pandering itself. Usually with dismal results, but he gets a chuckle out of it.

4. While on tour in Ireland, the band would often sing 'Been A While' in an Irish accent while driving between gigs, and late at night after many a Guinness. Caesar has ever since sung some part of it in an Irish accent at almost every show – he finds it hilarious (it's position in a set is also directly correlated with JT's need to splash the boots due to the late drum entrance).

5. Saying “I did that once... by accident” is constantly being thrown about. While discussing a ridiculously bizarre, sex fetish some years ago a close friend of the band commented: ”Oh... I did that once... by accident.”
