Melbourne veterans 28 Days will return to the stage this summer as part of the Hotter Than Hell tour.

After a successful debut in 2017, the Hotter Than Hell tour brings a revolving line-up of talented musicians (Spiderbait, Jebediah, Magic Dirt, Shihad and others) to various regional locations around the country this January-February.

Last year, 28 Days only featured at one of the Hotter Than Hell shows. This time around, the punk rockers will have a much more prominent presence. “We just did the one [show] last year and that was crazy,” 28 Days' bassist, Damien Gardiner says.

“I kind of harassed the promoter a fair bit to see if we could get on the whole leg this year. It should be really good.

“A typical 28 Days show is lots of fun and lots of crowd participation.”

“These [tours] are awesome because we don't have to do any work. They all run like clockwork. For us, these are the perfect opportunities to get out and play more shows.”

Damien explains the band is looking forward to catching up with old friends and putting on an entertaining performance for regional audiences starved of quality live music. "It's really well run. [They're] good shows that aren't too big or small. It's a good opportunity for regional places to see this kind of line-up.

"I'm keen to get out to the regional places and let them experience what an awesome festival it is.”

Fans of 28 Days can expect a line-up featuring original members Jay Dunne (vocals), Simon Hepburn (guitar) and Damien, plus Dan Kerby (drums) and Jason Howard (turntables).

“We are fortunate enough to be playing 21 years into our career and it's a privilege to be able to get up there and still have people appreciate us. We honour and love that,” Damien says.

“We try and bring that through in our performance. Whether it's Hotter Than Hell or the Bendigo Hotel [in Melbourne] in front of 200 people, you'll get the same show from us. It'll be 100 per cent all in. We just love it.

“Everyone that's seen us will know we are a bit older now, but we still try and put on the best show we can. We don't play that much. We probably play ten times a year, so every time we get onstage, we go all out, give it our all and just have fun. A typical 28 Days show is lots of fun and lots of crowd participation.”

For those wanting tickets to the Hotter Than Hell tour, Damien suggests to get in quick as they will likely sell out fast. “If you haven't got a ticket now, hurry up because they aren't going to last. If you are thinking about it, too late.

“It's a really good day and everyone should get there as soon as it opens. From the first band, it's just quality. You'll miss out on some good bands if you decide to get there at 5pm. Get there early!”
