The 2020 South Australian Music Awards will go ahead with the ceremony (Tuesday 3 November) to be conducted in line with current COVID-19 safety restrictions.
Whether the awards ceremony happens IRL or is moved to a virtual showcase will be announced at a later dater.However the SAM Awards are presented, the best and emerging South Australian musical talent's accomplishments of the past 12 months will be celebrated once again (nominations are now open).
Last year's Awards witnessed indie rockers Horror My Friend walk away with three awards: Best Group, Best Song and Best Music Video directed by Ryan Sahb. While Adrian Eagle and Electric Fields both came away with two awards each.

Newly appointed General Manager at Music SA, Kim Roberts says: "In what's been a very difficult year for our industry, I'm really looking forward to celebrating all of the excellent music and fantastic achievements that have emerged out of SA in the last year.
"It's such a great opportunity to acknowledge the creativity and innovation that makes our community so exciting."
2020 sees new award categories including Best Innovation, an award focused on championing new media and ideas around the music landscape, Best Music Educator and the splitting of the Festival / Event category into 'major' and 'small' awards.
The SAM's Industry awards will be decided by a panel of 15 national and local judges.
