Rising young stars of country music take their place among legendary artists on the first line-up for this year's Groundwater Country Music Festival (Gold Coast).
Topping the first round is Australia's queen of country Kasey Chambers with her incredible storytelling and intriguing blend of folk, country, blues and rock that has earned her 13 ARIA Awards, 10 APRA Music Awards and the honour of being the youngest female ever to be inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame."I’m so excited to return to Groundwater this July," Kasey says.
"We absolutely loved playing to so many enthusiastic music fans at such a great festival last time. It’ll be so much fun and is always such a massive party atmosphere."
Joining Kasey is good-time party boy Shannon Noll, who rose to fame as the first runner-up in the first series of 'Australian Idol' in 2003.
Years later, he's one of our most recognisable talents with five top-ten albums, seventeen platinum and three gold accreditations, not to mention a reputation for giving live audiences a show worth watching.
Kasey and Shannon lead their first-round counterparts, such as Australia's favourite country duo Sunny Cowgirls who enchant audiences with their mesmerising harmonies and irresistible celebrations of life and love in the Australian bush; the highly-respected and well-loved Gina Jeffreys, Australia's first female country artist to sell platinum albums and play sell-out shows; and triple ARIA Award-winners The Audreys who entertain audiences with their heartfelt music and hilarious anecdotes.
The first round of acts for Groundwater Country Music festival also includes Brad Butcher, winner of 'New Talent Of The Year' at the 2018 Golden Guitar Awards and also 'Alt-Country Album Of The Year' at the 2020 Golden Guitar Awards.
Other entries are The Pigs, Jayne Denham, Kristy Cox, The Weeping Willows and heaps more, with other line-ups still to be announced.
One of Australia's most-loved country music festivals, Groundwater Country Music Festival continues to grow in 2020 and promises to be hotter than GC's famous sun-kissed weather.
