This year's AIR Awards and Indie-Con Australia will be staged in the virtual world.
To take place 1-2 October, Indie-Con's 2020 programme will explore live-streaming, releasing music in lockdown, maximising revenue streams, international pathways for labels, and new wave A&R, as well as discuss diversity and inclusion policies for labels. The conference is FREE for AIR members, trade association members of the worldwide independent network (WIN) and members of other Australian music industry bodies. Non-members can also attend (a monetary fee applies).
A night celebrating the success of the Australian independent music sector, the 2020 AIR Awards will be presented as a one-hour broadcast via YouTube on 1 October.
"The South Australian Government is proud to be a major supporter of Indie-Con and while this year's conference is virtual, we look forward to welcoming AIR and the independent music sector back to Adelaide next year," SA Minister for Innovation and Skills, David Pisoni says.
