Local food, pleasant temperatures and most importantly, only one stage. What more could you want from a winter festival?
How about a first class line-up? The annual music festival River Sessions returns again this June to Mackay in regional Queensland.
The event boasts a myriad of pop, rock, hip hop and indie sounds with headliners including Amy Shark, The Rubens and Illy. Other acts on the bill are Middle Kids, Skegss, LDRU, Stand Atlantic and Alice Skye.
That's a line-up worthy of travelling from every corner of Queensland (and beyond) to attend.
Located next to the Great Barrier Reef (wink wink – perfect winter escape kids), Mackay's 'winter' offers festival goers a warm welcome with temperatures usually sitting above 20-degrees celsius. So you can rock whatever wild festival outfit you desire without lugging around a jacket. Bonus round.
And again there is only one stage, which when heading to a festival with a big group means less time chasing down mates and more time partying with your fave artist (and friends obvs).
River Sessions takes place at Old Mulherin Park (Mackay) 29 June. Tickets are on sale now – click here for more information.
