This year Gympie Music Muster celebrates 37 years of mateship, music and making a difference, presenting a line-up of talent worthy of the region's biggest country music gathering.
The first line-up announcement features Australian country music royalty Kasey Chambers, The McClymonts and James Blundell among more than 100 artists to be announced for the 2019 Gympie Music Muster.
Tex Perkins & The Fat Rubber band also feature, along with festival favourites Luke O'Shea and 2019 Gympie Muster Ambassador Felicity Urquhart as well as former INXS songwriter Andrew Farriss making his country music debut.
Gympie Music Muster Program Coordinator Emily Murphy says the 2019 line-up upholds Muster’s 38-year tradition of true, grassroots country favourites coupled with an exciting element of discovery across a broader range of genres.
“Musicians like Kasey Chambers, The McClymonts and James Blundell have real history with the Muster and are a special part of our extended family of artists who regularly return as crowd favourites.
“Muster-goers also love the element of surprise and discovery that Muster brings, so we have Tex and Andrew Farris, as well as incredible young Australian blues artist, Caiti Baker and James Ellis And The Jealous Guys, one of Melbourne’s best-loved country and honky-tonk bands, to name a few!”
Some of Australian country music's finest established artists mingle with the best emerging talent on the full programme, which also includes intimate Songwriter Sessions, all-star guitar jams, line and rock n roll dancing, instrument workshops and more.
Australia's largest charity festival, Gympie Music Muster is an iconic event that has come to define the region, raising more than $15 million for charity and community groups since it began.
Generations of Muster-goers return annually to enjoy the friendly, family atmosphere – there are no strangers at the Muster, only friends you haven’t met yet.
