2019 Dead Of Winter Festival Line-up

Mammal headline 2019 Dead Of Winter Festival in Brisbane (13 July).

While those living in Westeros are dreading the impending long winter, Brisbanites can rejoice with the news Dead Of Winter returns for a ninth instalment on Saturday 13 July.

And what a line-up they have conjured with a swag of heavy music's finest purveyors aboard the 2019 event (that will take over The Tivoli Theatre and Jubilee Hotel) including prog heavyweights Cog, live show kings Mammal, punk royalty Bodyjar and 28 Days, along with QOTSA's Nick Oliveri, heavy lords Aversions Crown, Perth's Voyager, Russian punk outfit Svetlanas, Israel's Elephant Hive and many more.

The complete list of 29 first-round announcements is listed below.

But music is only part of the Dead Of Winter offering, with this year's festival (that scored a 94 per cent satisfaction rate among 2018 attendees) set to be zombie-fied as a horde of Australia’s best SFX make-up artists face off against each other as the zombie army will be out in force as per usual road-blocking the Valley, with punters encouraged to dress up in horror-fuelled outfits to win prizes on the day.

For those dedicated Dead Of Winter loyalists, this year the event is offering one lucky punter the chance to win a golden ticket that will grant VIP access to every Dead Of Winter fest for life. For reals. To register, click here.

The 2019 event will also feature improved wheelchair accessibility, the installation of water stations and can recycling. A host of award-winning 5-star food trucks will also be wheeled in to cater to the hungry mob.

"The growth of heavy music and in turn Dead of Winter festival over the last few years has been astounding," Dead Of Winter Festival Creative Director Christian Tryhorn says.

"What, only 3 years ago was a 1,200-cap single-venue event is now a 4,000-cap Australian mainstay and one of the largest gatherings of heavy bands in the country.

"We're all stoked to be bringing Brisbane a mighty fine line-up once again and keen to see DOW sell out as it moves from strength to strength on the back of solid local and national support."

Dead Of Winter returns to The Tivoli Theatre and Jubilee Hotel (Brisbane) Saturday July 13. Tickets available Friday 8 March at 9am local time. Click here for more information.
