Oh stop it Falls Festival. Your 2019/ 2020 line-up is simply ridiculous in the most amazing way.
And dear reader, we think you’ll agree once you’ve let your eyes feast on a bill bursting with international headliners, national superstars and one Whispering Jack. Yes. Mr. John Farnham will be bringing the ‘Pressure Down’ live on stage.
As we head into the Roaring Twenties, Falls is also the perfect setting to dance away the past decade that has witnessed everything from an Ebola outbreak in Africa, the Occupy Wall Street movement, Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, two English Royal weddings, Brexit, the continuing Trump saga, ‘Frozen’, ‘Breaking Bad’, ‘Game Of Thrones’, Gangnam Style, Candy Crush, Words With Friends and Grumpy Cat – that pretty much covers the entire decade. Pretty much.
But back to the music and who is playing… leading the charge will be newly-minted pop royalty Halsey (for her only Australian shows), NYC's hit-making heroes Vampire Weekend, English EDM icons Disclosure and the super-fun pop of Peking Duk.
Other names to make your mouth drool include Icelandic architects of anthem Of Monsters And Men, festival masters PNAU, multi-platinum British lung buster Lewis Capaldi, smooth German hook gurus Milky Chance and downright dazzling LA alt-pop queen BANKS (for her only Australian shows).
The Aussie contingent is world-class as well with the likes of Dope Lemon, Vera Blue, G Flip, Crooked Colours, Thelma Plum, #1 Dads, WAAX, Baker Boy, Amyl & The Sniffers, Parcels, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets and Good Doogs part of the first round of acts announced.
Then each location will also feature a special guest playing that event only; and holy-cow smoke, they’re top-shelf folks. Tash Sultana will play Byron Bay, What So Not performs at Lorne, Matt Corby will rock-out at Fremantle and Marion Bay will host Wolfmother.
