2018 WAMFest Reveal First 32 Bands Playing

Noah Dillion will showcase at 2018 WAMFest Live.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

After the record-breaking success of last year's multi-day music event, WAMFest continue to deliver the goods while supporting WA music with a stellar first line-up announcement of 32 bands on the WAMFest Live Friday programme - and it's all completely free.

The Friday programme will be hosted in the City of Perth, with 10+ stages spread around the Murray Street strip, allowing easier access for music lovers and industry alike to 'float between each of the thoughtfully-curated showcases and explore all of the incredible live music on show'.

Amplifier Capitol will feature four stages providing the alternative, grunge, punk and indie-rock from must-see acts such as Bolt Gun, FOAM, Skullcave, Spacey Jane and Sly Withers, alongside soul-soothing sets from buzzworthy soloists like Helen Shanahan and Tanaya Harper.

A mix of indie-folk and raucous rock will be on offer at The Sewing Room provided by The Wilds, Ryan Beno, Noah Dillon and The Tommyhawks. Or soak up neo soul vibes from acts such as Ruby May and Georgia Reed at The Laneway Lounge.

Rubix Bar, The Belgium Beer Café and Wesley Church will have you covered on all things blues, country, acoustic and gospel, with more acts and venues to be revealed in the coming months.

"We're really happy to be presenting a completely free WAMFest Live programme this year," WAMFest Co-coordinator Simon 'Skinny' O'Leary says, "and look forward to showcasing some of the best venues and live acts in Australia."

Now in its 25th year, WAMFest presented by Act-Belong-Commit is the country's biggest celebration of emerging West Australian artists, bands and producers.

Spanning multiple weekends, the WAMFest Live component will see hundreds of WA artists takeover venues and outdoor stages for a series of FREE live music events in Perth City on Friday 2 November and Northbridge on Saturday 3 November, with more events kicking off in regional WA and Perth suburbs in the weeks before and after still to be announced.

WAMFest Live takes place Friday 2 November (Perth City) and Saturday 3 November (Northbridge) across multiple stages and venues - all free entry.
