With the likes of The McClymonts, Granger Smith, Adam Harvey, 30 Years Of Pride - A Tribute To James Blundell, Suzanne Vega, Joshua Hedley and Amber Lawrence already announced on a massive 2018 line-up, Groundwater Country Music Festival (Gold Coast) have revealed two special collaborations that will feature this year as well.
Back by popular demand, Country Music Cocktails will add a fresh flavour to the festival. With world-class food and drinks, more than 25 artists playing live and a hefty dose of glamour, it has become one of the must-attend events for passionate fans.
Normally held in Australia's country music home, Tamworth, Groundwater is proud to host the event for the second year outside Tamworth. This year's show will include crowd favourites Kirsty Lee Akers, Casey Barnes, Jasmine Atkins, The Weeping Willows, Chalkie White and many more.
ABC's Saturday Night Country (a staple for any country music aficionado) will be back on the Gold Coast for their house concert at Groundwayer. Led by singer-songwriter and presenter Felicity Urquhart, this will be a showcase of the best of the festival, live on stage, recorded live for that night's radio show and co-hosted by the ABC's Scott Lamond.
With the surge in popularity of country music and its sub-genres, the free festival is welcoming more fans (77 per cent increase in attendance last year) and more diversity than ever before, the sister festival to Blues on Broadbeach is ready to hold its own.
"Groundwater will showcase a diverse range of eras and genres from the roots of country music, the heritage of bluegrass and folk, to modern country rock," Program Director Mark Duckworth says.
"All with a heart and a story to tell."
Groundwater Country Music Festival (which is a free event) takes place throughout the Broadbeach precinct (Gold Coast) 27-29 July.
