Artists and bands interested in presenting their artistic endeavours to music industry heads up, showcase applications are now open for the 2018 Australian Music Week (AMW) which returns for a fourth year to Sydney 7-11 November.
Staged throughout the chilled-out beachside shores of Cronulla, previous performers include Ruby Fields, Hein Cooper, Skegss, Diesel, The Audreys, Hollow Coves and William Crighton who scored either international tours, major festival placements, record and distribution deals, international touring and showcasing opportunities from their showcases at AMW.
AMW brings together top-notch talent buyers, from festival directors to record labels, radio pluggers and management.
"Australian Music Week is unique in that it is still relatively small, which makes it so much easier for artists and industry to genuinely connect, with actual on-the-ground discoveries and new deals happening over the days of the conference," Australian Music Week director, Geoff Trio says.
"As well as bringing in representatives from Australia's leading festivals and organisations, we have brokered powerful partnerships with a number of international events who will come to Australian Music Week to discover acts for launching into markets like North America, Asia and Europe. "The opportunities are real and so are the great results we're seeing grow year on year."
Staged across five days, AMW showcases over 150 performances across a wide range of genres, presents more than 20 panels addressing the latest industry issues with leading Australian and international figures as well as hosts a Music Film Festival and the annual Folk, Americana and Country Music conferences.
Past speakers include Peter Noble (Bluesfest), Gregg Donavon (Wonderlick), Mama Kin, Chloe Goodyear (Woodford Folk Festival) and Jed Hilly (Americana) with delegates from New World Artists, MGM, ABC Music and more in regular attendance searching for new talent.
Showcase applications are now open (they close 21 August) with the first round of delegates and speakers to be announced soon. Click here to apply to showcase.
