English rockers 10cc are currently celebrating their 50th anniversary, and in 2023 they return to Australia for a 20-date tour that will visit every state and territory.
With a back catalogue littered with classic hits – 'I'm Not In Love', 'The Things We Do For Love', 'Rubber Bullets', and 'Dreadlock Holiday' (with its catchy chorus: "I don't like cricket, I love it!") – 10cc will criss-cross the country throughout June. The band's current touring line-up features original member Graham Gouldman (bass, guitars, vocals) joined by Rick Fenn (lead guitar, vocals, bass), Paul Burgess (drums, percussion), Mick Wilson (vocals, percussion, guitar, keyboards) and Mike Stevens (keyboards, guitar, bass, sax, vocals).
'I'm Not In Love' has featured in 'Guardians Of The Galaxy' and 'Bridget Jones: Edge Of Reason' soundtracks, while 'Dreadlock Holiday' is a perennial crowd favourite that was included in the 2010 film 'The Social Network'.
"The band is sounding fantastic! Our main strength is the songs. Hit after hit after hit. It's relentless. We show no mercy," 10cc leader Graham Gouldman says.
"[The songs] don't seem to date. We never followed any trend, we simple wrote for our own pleasure. The fact that the songs are being played as often on the radio today as they ever were shows how true that is.
"Year on year we get busier and busier. It's great, we love touring and playing together and we get on really well.
"The audiences these days are very gratifying. You get the people you would expect, who grew up with 10cc, but you also get young kids who know the songs too.
"Now whether they've discovered 10cc for themselves, via the internet or radio, or just grown up with their parents playing it in the house, I don't know. But we get a great mix of people from the generations."
