A co-production between the BBC and FX, 'Black Narcissus' is a new, three-part miniseries loosely based on the 1939 Rumer Godden novel of the same title.

Mopu, Himalayas, 1934 – the twilight era of British colonial rule in India. A remote clifftop palace once known as the 'House of Women' holds many dark secrets.

When the young nuns of St. Faith attempt to establish a mission there, its haunting mysteries awaken forbidden desires that seem destined to repeat a terrible tragedy.

Gemma Arterton ('Quantum Of Solace', 'Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters') portrays Sister Clodagh while Aisling Franciosi ('The Fall', 'Legends') is Sister Ruth.

'Black Narcissus' also features the late Dame Dianna Rigg in her penultimate role as Mother Dorthea. Alessandro Nivola ('The Many Saints Of Newark', 'Howl') plays Mr. Dean.

'Black Narcissus' miniseries is set to premiere November 2020.
