Accio, young talent!
Harry Potter, Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley have been cast for the upcoming HBO Original ‘Harry Potter’ series, set to start production over the next few months.
Please welcome Dominic McLaughlin (Harry Potter), Arabella Stanton (Hermione Granger), and Alastair Stout (Ron Weasley).
“After an extraordinary search led by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we are delighted to announce we have found our Harry, Hermione, and Ron,” ‘Harry Potter’ Showrunner/Executive Producer Francesca Gardiner and Director/Executive Producer Mark Mylod say.
“The talent of these three unique actors is wonderful to behold, and we cannot wait for the world to witness their magic together onscreen. We would like to thank all the tens of thousands of children who auditioned. It's been a real pleasure to discover the plethora of young talent out there.”

The casting of the iconic trio comes after a selection of cast announcements, including John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch, and Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell.
The series will be a faithful adaptation of the beloved ‘Harry Potter’ books.
Each season will represent a ‘Harry Potter’ book, and will stream exclusively on HBO Max. The producing team includes Showrunner/Executive Producer Francesca Gardiner, Executive Producer/Director Mark Mylod, Executive Producers J.K. Rowling, Neil Blair, and Ruth Kenley-Letts, and David Heyman.
Production for ‘Harry Potter’ is due to begin in winter.
