The Simpsons Filmed A Whole Lego Episode

The LEGO Simpsons
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Going far beyond the usual viral couch gag, 'The Simpsons' have filmed an entire Lego episode.

Ostensibly timed to celebrate the release of the long-awaited 'Simpsons' Lego playset (and, we guess, 'The Lego Movie'), the episode looks set to go to some weird places.

For one thing, it's positively loaded with Philip K. Dick references (just check out the Easter eggs in The Android's Dungeon & Baseball Card Shop), and while we're not sure what that has to do with Lego, exactly, the whole thing feels very, very meta.

'The Simpsons Lego Spectacular' — aka 'Brick Like Me' — will air in the US on Sunday May 4; hopefully we won't have to wait too long to see it in Oz.

In the meantime, the folks at How It Should Have Ended have crafted a two-minute stop-motion tribute to 'The Lego Movie', and it turns out Superman has a few problems with how that movie played out.
