The Oscar Goes To... The St Kilda Film Festival

Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Australia’s oldest and largest short film festival, the St Kilda Film Festival (May 22-31), is now an Academy Awards qualifying event. Award-winning films from the St Kilda Festival are eligible for consideration in the Short Film Awards section of the Oscars.

Festival Director Paul Harris is thrilled to showcase St Kilda and its thriving arts and culture on the world stage. “We are honoured the St Kilda Film Festival is now Academy Award accredited, recognising and supporting the profile of our leading festival, emerging artists and the Australian film industry."

Entries are still open for 2014 film competitions including Australia’s Top 100 Short Film Competition and the SoundKILDA Music Video Competition.

Applicants can enter at stkildafilmfestival.com.au before Friday January 31. Both competitions are open to Australian residents and it only costs $33 to enter.
