THE DICTATOR
Sacha Baron Cohen, Anna Faris. Directed by Larry Charles.

After giving a condescending speech about utilising uranium for clean energy between fits of giggles, the power mad Admiral General Haffaz Aladeen (Cohen, playing the dictator of fictional North African nation Wadiya) is invited by the UN to hold a conference in America.

Packed with inappropriate jabs at sexism, racism, and green-loving new-agers, laughs are plentiful and come from everywhere in The Dictator, from Aladeen's high maintenance peacock demands to his crude insults for just about any and every type of living being.

As opposed to Borat and Bruno, The Dictator uses actors and a script rather than unaware citizens, so the film's dynamic is different. At times hilarious, hysterical, sophisticated, silly and surprising, the film is nonetheless cornier than Baron Cohen's previous efforts.

Shockingly, he's almost upstaged by the amazing Anna Faris. It's worth seeing for her alone!
