Gird your loins!

Iconic 2006 film ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, following a sheepish but ambitious writer who gets a job as assistant to a scathing fashion magazine Editor-In-Chief, is reportedly getting a sequel.

Variety reports that Disney is developing the film, and while no cast has been fully confirmed, reports are swirling that Emily Blunt and Meryl Streep, at the very least, could be making their return. Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci are ‘in talks’, and the original film’s screenwriter and director are both said to be holding pens for this new chapter.

As for the plot? Well, it’s reportedly a reflection of the times in which we are living – Miranda Priestly is navigating her career amid the decline of traditional magazine publishing, as she faces off. . . Against Emily! Emily is now a high-powered executive for a luxury group, with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.

So where do Anne Hathaway’s Andrea Sachs and Stanley Tucci’s Nigel possibly fit into this? We’ll have to wait for more information as it hits the internet. . . But it’s no secret that Anne has been pretty steadfast on there being no chance of a sequel. She told Entertainment Tonight that “there’s not going to be a sequel. It’s not gonna happen. We can’t do it” in 2022. . . And even more recently this year, she told V Magazine that it’s “probably not” going to happen. . . But she wasn’t totally against it this time: “We all love each other and if somebody could come up with a way to do it, I think we’d all be crazy not to.”

The rumoured film plot is notably not following the events of the original book’s (by Lauren Weisberger) sequel, ’Revenge Wears Prada’.

Until we get more news, why not re-watch the original? Is it ever a bad time to do that?

That’s all!
