The 64th Sydney Film Festival has announced the full programme for its event in June.
Also revealed is a new festival location: Randwick’s iconic Ritz Cinema.
Some of the titles in the festival programme are 'Whitney: Can I Be Me', 'A Ghost Story' starring Casey Affleck and 'The Woman Who Left', winner of the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. There will also be some true story films to look forward to. Oscar-nominated 'I Am Not Your Negro' will provide a timely perspective on race, while South African first lady Winnie Madikizela-Mandela gets an extensive portrait in 'Winnie'.
'Rumble: Indians Who Rocked The World' is a celebratory examination of American popular music, and Ethan Hawke and Sally Hawkins star in 'Maudie', based on the true story of Canada's best known folk artist Maud Lewis.
'Whitney: Can I Be Me'Australian films include 'That's Not Me', 'Mountain', 'The Opposition' and 'Spookers'. Speaking of spookers, check out 'An American Werewolf In London' under the full moon at the Skyline Drive In.
Other feature highlights are 'My Life As A Zucchini' voiced by Ellen Page, and Malaysia's answer to 'Kill Bill', 'Mrs K'. Outstanding documentaries remain essential to the Sydney Film Festival, and this year you'll see 'Untitled' by the late Michael Glawogger, 'Liberation Day', 'Abacus: Small Enough To Jail' and more.
