It’s a day burned into the retinas and brains of thousands and thousands of people. . . The day Steve left ‘Blue's Clues’.
After a six-year run as the ‘host’ on the iconic kids show from 1996 to 2002, Steve Burns announced he would be departing, and so an audible ‘crack’ was heard around the world as hearts broke and Steve’s fictional character was replaced with his ‘younger brother’ Joe, played by Donovan Patton.
That’s not to say those who have come after Steve have sucked. . . But it’s safe to say Steve has a special place in many people’s hearts as the O.G. His sudden departure naturally stirred the rumour mill; there were even reports of things as brutal as drug overdoses and car accidents, but it turns out Steve is just fine.
In case you needed reassurance of this, the man himself has returned to make a video as part of the celebrations of the 25th anniversary of ‘Blue's Clues’. Check it out below and be ready to feel some feels.

“I realise that was kind of abrupt,” Steve says of his departure. “I just kinda got up and went to college, and that was really challenging by the way, but great.”
“I really couldn’t have done all of that without your help. . . After all these years, I never forgot you. Ever.”
Well we never forgot you either, Steve, and it’s bloody good to see you. Is anyone else just feeling a little more motivated in life knowing that 25 years on, Steve is still proud of us? Time to kick some goals. Let's do it for Steve damn it.
