Humour dares to go where others won’t at A World Of Dark Comedy Film Festival.
The event, taking place first in Perth before hitting the road on a national tour, is an invitation to experience cinema that pushes boundaries, flips the familiar on its head, and makes you laugh in all the wrong places.
It’s a dark, cheeky and unforgettable experience.
Each screening is carefully curated to showcase the strange, the absurd, and the uncomfortably funny, in a curation of 14 short films that range from biting satire, to gloriously weird storytelling.
“An experience to remember that will leave you hot and sweaty by the end,” one fan describes.
Screenings include ‘True Lies’, where Julie takes her boyfriend Anthony to a specialist – with one last hope to cure him of the strange ailment tormenting him: lying. Then there’s ‘The Box’, where two police officers must lie in wait to ambush their target. . . And ‘The Sandwich’, where a stolen sandwich turned Austin into the office’s most dangerous man. Plus, ‘NFIS’ documents a grizzled detective who follows his hunch all the way to the end to get a sweet reward.

'Open 2 Offers'
In ‘I Owe You One’, Raul and Lucas have been best friends their whole lives, and one day, Raul is driving Lucas home but must first ask a favour. . . After all, Lucas owes him. Then there’s ‘Game Over’, where it’s Scrabble Day for an elderly couple. The sunny scene opens with the old man’s hateful inner monologue, as he’s forced to take part in the game.
All of these films and more will be showcased as part of A World Of Dark Comedy Film Festival.
Tickets are on sale now.
A World Of Dark Comedy 6 is on in Perth at Luna Leederville 14 November and Luna On SX 21 November, before heading out on a national tour.
