It’s the kind of competition to have any Force nerd close to hyperventilating.
JJ Abrams has posted a teaser trailer overnight from the Abu Dhabi set of ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’. In it, he shares details of a competition that will include the winner receiving screen time in the ‘actual’ film — “We want to put you in the movie, in ‘Star Wars’.”
The winner will also be flown to London to meet the stellar crew including Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford as well fresh faces to the SW galaxy, Andy Serkis and Daisy Ridley.
The clip also features an alien interaction, with a creature interrupting JJ’s speech. The inhabitant appears to be a resident of Tatooine, the desert home planet of Darth Vader and Luke Skywalker.
The video is part of a charity initiative called Star Wars: Force For Change, a project to help children in need with UNICEF. A ‘Star Wars’ fan since he was a kid, Abrams says Force For Change s “brand new initiative that’s dedicated to finding creative solutions to some of the world’s biggest problems. It’s about helping kids all around the world by supporting UNICEF Innovation Labs and Programs.”
