The Spanish Film Festival will return to Australia in July for its 15th birthday celebrations.
The festival, presented by Estrella Damm, will once again travel to Palace Cinemas in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth, screening a rich programme of contemporary Spanish language cinema from July 4-25.
Festival director Natalia Ortiz has selected this year's programme from the cream of the international festival crop. Highlights include As Luck Would Have It, starring Salma Hayek and just named the jewel of the Tribeca Film Festival by Indiewire; insomnia-provoking thriller Sleep Tight, about a Barcelona apartment block concierge who turns on the inhabitants after dark; and the endearing Chinese Take Away, starring Argentinean actor Ricardo Darin as a solitary man compelled to take in a Chinese lodger.
