Gold Coast Film Festival (GCFF) returns in 2023 to celebrate its 21st year, taking place at HOTA – Home Of The Arts.
Tickets are now on sale for GCFF marquee events: Opening Night Red Carpet Gala Premiere, Screen Industry Gala Awards, and the Women In Film Lunch. The red carpet will roll out for Opening Night on 19 April for headline film and the Queensland premiere of ‘Polite Society’.
‘Polite Society’ premiered at the 2023 Sundance Film Festival and stars Priya Kansara (‘Bridgerton’) and Ritu Arya (‘Red Notice’, ‘The Umbrella Academy’). It follows a British Pakistani teenager and aspiring stuntwoman who attempts to save her older sister from a semi-arranged marriage.
The Screen Industry Gala Awards will take place on 20 April at the very heart of Australian filmmaking, Warner Bros. Movie World. It’s a chance to network and connect with industry representatives and filmmakers, with the presentation of the coveted Chauvel Awards and the 2023 Gold Coast Film Festival Screen Industry Awards.

The GCFF Women In Film Lunch is presented on 21 April. It brings together the industry, and is renowned for creating the chance to be inspired by female industry professionals. It carries the tradition of celebrating stories, perspectives and experiences of women in the industry.
For the second year, the title of Festival Ambassador will be held by Gold Coaster Lincoln Lewis.
The full GCFF programme is available from 16 March, set to showcase world, Australian and Queensland premieres, exclusive preview screenings, and filmmaking talents through films, outdoor cinema, red carpets, industry panels, Q&As and special events.
