Ryan Murphy's anthology series 'American Crime Story' is set to return with a third instalment that focuses on the Clinton–Lewinsky scandal that rocked American politics in the late '90s.
The 10-part series titled 'Impeachment: American Crime Story' drills down into the sordid details of former US President Bill Clinton and Monica Lewinsky's sexual affair during his presidency from the perspective of the women at the centre of the events: Monica, Linda Tripp and Paula Jones.
Beanie Feldstein ('Booksmart', 'What We Do in the Shadows') portrays Monica, while Sarah Paulson ('Mrs. America', 'Ratched') continues her association with the 'American Crime Story' series by playing civil servant Linda Tripp (who secretly recorded her conversations with Lewinsky).
Annaleigh Ashford ('Masters Of Sex', 'Bad Education') is Paula Jones (who sued Clinton for sexual harassment, which led to further investigations of Clinton and was the impetus for his impeachment) with Clive Owen ('The Knick') as Bill Clinton.
Edie Falco ('The Sopranos', 'Nurse Jackie') features as Hillary Clinton. Others with recurring roles include Colin Hanks ('Fargo'), Mira Sorvino ('Romy and Michele's High School Reunion') and Cobie Smulders ('How I Met Your Mother', 'The Avengers').
Monica Lewinksy also serves as a co-producer of the show.
Based on Jeffrey Toobin's book, 'A Vast Conspiracy: The Real Story of the Sex Scandal That Nearly Brought Down a President;, 'Impeachment: American Crime Story' will be available to stream/ watch on Binge and Foxtel's Fox One from 8 September.
