Shantay, g'day!
Time to tuck your budgies, Aussie queens. 'RuPaul's Drag Race' is finally on its way Down Under. Kicking off production this week, 'RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under' will air as an 8-part Stan Original Series, hosted by RuPaul and Michelle Visage.
Stan is the home of RuPaul in Australia, and it's about to become the home of 'RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under', set to premiere layer this year. It's the first-ever local adaption of the global hit series, featuring the most fabulous and fierce Australian drag queens competing to be the first-ever Down Under Drag Superstar.
The third judge joining RuPaul and Michelle, as well as the celebrity guests appearing throughout, will be announced later this year.
Following the iconic reality show's existing format, 'Down Under' will see queens serving high fashion, competing in mini and maxi challenges, giving us shady and heartfelt Werk Room moments and lip-syncing for their lives.
"I cannot wait for everyone to see that Down Under queens have some of the biggest charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talents in the world," RuPaul says. "Thank you to Stan and TVNZ for providing a platform for these outrageous drag artists to share their heart, soul and humour."
So, Australia. Who will be our very own drag queens of the desert? Will they be from West or South Australia? Maybe Queensland? Ru South Wales? Victor Victoria? Maybe even from the little map of Tassie?
Won't be long until we find out.
'RuPaul's Drag Race Down Under' will premiere exclusively on Stan in 2021.
