Ruby Rose Strips Down For OITNB Season Three

Ruby Rose as Stella Carlin in season 3 of 'Orange Is The New Black'
Past Arts and Comedy Editor
Jess was scenestr National Arts and Comedy editor between 2014 and 2017.

Trending on Twitter since 'Orange Is The New Black's third season premiered on Netflix last week, Ruby Rose is Litchfield prison's hottest new inmate – literally.

A former model and MTV presenter, this is the 29-year-old Australia native's first foray into dramatic acting, but hopefully not her last. But there's no orange for this beauty, she's been rocking beige for a while, which begs the question – where has she been hiding? Leaving her character's role open ended, there are high hopes the tattooed babe returns for season four.

OrangeIsTheNewBlackPlaying Stella Carlin, Rose spends a considerable amount of time in the buff and has eyes for one women in particular. Flirtatious towards Piper (Taylor Schilling), there are a few passionate moments that get a little steamy in the bathroom. Causing friction between Pipes and her on-again off-again girlfriend, Alex (Laura Prepon), Ruby has commented that "she definitely causes some waves."

Enaged to Phoebe Dahl since May, Ruby tells The Hollywood Reporter how proud and honoured she feels playing a character whose identity reflects her own. "Obviously you want to be able to be very diverse as an actor, and you want to be able to play straight characters, you want to play gay characters.

"You don't want to be pigeonholed, but at the same time there's something very special and unique in being able to be gay in real life [and] play a gay character and know that [people] watching ... will then do the research that this is an actor playing a gay character and then maybe find out they're married to a man with three kids and be a little disheartened: 'Oh, maybe it is just a TV show. Maybe there isn't someone I can relate to.' I feel like this show is great because you have all of that. There's a transgender woman playing a transgender character. It shouldn't be any other way for this particular show."

Ruby Rose Topless
Taking to Twitter at the weekend – when the season was released in full on Netflix Thursday (11 June) evening, a few hours earlier than promoted – Ruby admits that she is only on episode two and feels vulnerable that so many people have binge-watched it before she has even seen herself appear (episode 6).

'Orange Is The New Black' season three is on Netflix now and airs on Showcase.
