San Diego television identity Ron Burgundy has announced plans to release an autobiography.
Mr Burgundy — played by Will Ferrell in 2004's Anchorman: The Legend Of Ron Burgundy, and the upcoming Anchorman: The Legend Continues — promises to "tell all" about his life in Let Me Off At The Top: My Classy Life and Other Musings.
"I don't know if it's the greatest autobiography ever written," Mr Burgundy said in a statement. "I'm too close to the work. I will tell you this much: The first time I sat down and read this thing... I cried like a goddamn baby. And you can take that to the bank."
Publisher Random House promises "a rare glimpse behind the camera into the real life of a man many consider to be our greatest living news anchor" and "personal anecdotes about the women in his life, about his dog, Baxter, and his legendary news team".
The book will be published on November 19; Anchorman: The Legend Continues will be released in Australia on December 19.
The book is in no way a rip-off of Alan Partridge's autobiography, I, Patridge, which sold 200,000 copies in the UK last year.
