Revelation Perth International Film Festival looks at the goings-on of the film world in Western Australia for the month of May (and beyond).


Australian Revelations
One of the best nights on the monthly film-lover's calendar is Australian Revelations. Presenting some of the best in Australian classics plus new features and documentaries and WA-made shorts, it takes place on the last Monday every month. Screening at the Backlot Perth, tickets include drinks and nibbles!

Continue Short Film Initiative
Submissions are open to local filmmakers for a new initiative that can take your short film to a fully funded feature with a $10k grant. Selected projects that demonstrate their ability to translate in feature films are eligible for consideration.

Blind Date Music Video Competition
Make sure you’re a part of the Revelation Perth International Film Festival Blind Date Music Video Competition. Teaming local musicians with local filmmakers, music video magic will be made. Screenings of selected videos during Revelation in July with prizes awarded to the winning entries.

Girls School Cinema
Your winter plans just got a whole lot cosier because Girls School Cinema is back and Program One tickets are now on sale. Housed in a stunning castle-like building in East Perth, Girls School Cinema features loads of new treats including a special movie marathon session. The Girls School Cinema season runs 17 May-12 October every Wednesday to Sunday.

Pulse
Luna Cinemas Leederville is screening 'Pulse', the debut feature from writer/actor Daniel Monks and director Stevie Cruz-Martin (Marrow) on Wednesday 29 May at Luna Leederville. Mixing sexuality and teen angst with an undercurrent of sci-fi, this bold fantasy follows a gay disabled teen who undergoes a mysterious procedure that gives him the body of a young able-bodied woman in order to pursue his love object. Stevie Cruz-Martin will conduct a Q&A following film.

Spanish Film Festival
The 2019 Moro Spanish Film Festival exclusively at Cinema Paradiso in Northbridge from 24 April-15 May. The festival features 32 films from Spain and Latin America, including special presentations and events, innovative documentaries, and a spotlight on female directors.

PHSG
Perth Homeless Support Group present films at The Backlot Perth throughout the year with the aim of raising funds to aid homeless people in the Perth community. Their next event is 'Little' on 19 May.
