Revelation Perth International Film Festival never stops!

RevStream
We’re very pleased with our newly minted streaming portal RevStream which is made up of as many films we've previously screened as we can possibly get – plus a tonne more. In our latest update, we’ve got five new titles featuring one of our favourite Aussie indie artists and musicians, Kai Smythe with his odyssey of self-discovery – 'Lost On The Road To Shangri'. With self-discovery as a theme that applies to the other titles this month, we have the punk rock feature adventure 'The Icarus Line Must Die', Alex Munt’s great indie piece 'LBF: Life Between F**ks', the acclaimed US indie feature 'Pet Names' and the new Australian thriller 'Bloodshot Heart'. RevStream is a one-of-a-kind streaming and distribution service located right here in WA and includes around 200 feature titles and 200 shorts for your enjoyment. Take a look at the full catalogue on our website.

Made In WA
. . .And while we’re at it on the streaming front, if you’re a local filmmaker with any film you’d like to include in our RevStream Made In WA section, just drop us a line with a synopsis, poster (if you have one) and link, we’ll add it and hopefully drive some eyes your way!

International call for entries
We’re finding this year’s call for entries is the gift that just keeps giving and we’re loving it. This year’s crop is looking like the best year ever, with films coming in from the four corners of the globe of all forms, all durations and all subjects. Entries close on 1 April (no joke), and while there’s still plenty of time, we’re programming films as we go, so our advice to you is now is the time! You can send us your film via Film Freeway and if you’re alumni, we can waive the entry fee because we already love you.

Redbubble
We’ve got merch! Whether it’s a mask you need or a t-shirt or heck, even a Revelation bath mat, we’ve got it all for you. Head to Redbubble to stock up on merchandise which helps us spread the word, share the love and support indie film.

Cinema happenings in Perth

Transition Town Vincent invite you to join them Monday 14 February for 'I Am Greta'. The story of teenage climate activist Greta Thunberg is told through compelling, never-before-seen footage in this intimate documentary from Swedish director Nathan Grossman. The future belongs to those who fight for it. Tickets from humanitix.

The Black Maria Film Collective brings you David Cronenberg’s techno-surrealist psychosexual body horror 'Videodrome' on Friday 18 February. A film that defies explanation, it must be seen to be believed. With absolutely grotesque, balls to the walls practical FX work and a truly surrealist narrative that refuses to explain or apologise for itself, they’ll also host an exclusive Zoom Q&A with the film's cinematographer and frequent Cronenberg collaborator, Mark Irwin! Tickets from eventbrite.

2022 marks 14 years since Heath Ledger passed away and, in his honour, The Backlot Perth in partnership with Beyond Skate are hosting the inaugural Perth Skate Film Festival on Sunday 27 February from 12-5pm. Catch a compilation of local WA filmmaker skate films and 'Lords Of Dogtown'. Proceeds to the Heath Ledger Scholarship. Tickets from eventbrite.
