From Australia's Cool Banana Films and Director Uttam Mukherjee comes psychological crime thriller 'Redemption'.
Developed over three years, 'Redemption' tells the story of a teenage girl who seeks freedom, but must first escape from her protective father and overcome a family of abductors, liars and rapists.
"I wanted to delve into the dynamics of the power equation between an abuser and abused," Uttam Mukherjee says. "This is not a case of Stockholm Syndrome. Keeping in mind the constraints of financial and other resources, I developed the story.
"My focus was to provide the characters with uniqueness and make the story engaging through twists and turns. Although the subject is horrific, I have tried to depict it elegantly."
Uttam says the production process for 'Redemption' was made easy thanks to a large support network which helped him to achieve this venture.
"The day before the shoot I lost my father in law, who encouraged me in my crazy pursuit," Uttam continues. "However, a dedicated and professional cast and crew made it fun and easy to shoot 'Redemption' within time, budget and importantly attain the quality of work I was aspiring for."
'Redemption' stars Ben Hamilton and Shezly, with supporting roles from Francis J Edwards, Syed Mohiuddin and Sonny Bhatti.
