Queer Music Video Takes Home Big Award At JMC's Martini Awards

Producer Lachlan Harris & Director Marcel Lim (l-r)
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

At this year’s JMC Martini Awards at Lightspace Brisbane, Best Music Video has been awarded to student director Marcel Lim for his work with Brisbane band 4740 and their song 'HappiDaze'.

Judges described Marcel’s work as “ethereal and a visual feast” and “a stunning tribute to Brisbane’s LGBTI community”. It's certainly visually stunning and filled with glitter.

Marcel also won Best TVC/Branded Content for his Video Profile of Penske’s Neal Richardson.

“Honestly so grateful for these two awards. Thank you to everyone who had a part in these two projects and anyone who has ever believed and supported me. Thank you to Lachlan Harris who has been my rock since day one, to my sister who is the most supportive sister anyone could ask for, and my parents for sticking with me and teaching me how hard work does pay off,” Marcel says.

Congrats, Marcel!
