The world is about to get pitch slapped!
If you thought 'Pitch Perfect' was aca-amazing, get ready to be blown away with another spectacular a capella performance by the Barden Bellas in the sequel to 2012’s hit.
Now in their senior year of college, the Barden Bellas have taken out the title of National A Acapella Champions for three years running. As a part of their duties as national champions, the group are asked to perform at the President’s Birthday Bash at the Lincoln Centre, where a serious wardrobe malfunction results in their disqualification from their fourth and final nationals competition. Determined to defend their title, the Bellas realise that the only way for them to participate in the national competition is to compete in and win on the World A Capella stage, a feat that no American a capella group has ever been able to do. This proves particularly difficult as they come face-to-face with their main rivals – German a capella group, Das Sound Machine.
In the meantime, Beca (Anna Kendrick) attempts to juggle both the Bellas and her internship at a local recording studio, while the Bellas employ a freshman addition, Emily (Hailee Steinfeld), to the group. With so much chaos going on, the girls find themselves falling ‘out of harmony’ as they struggle to perform in-sync and to the standard they had always performed at. Worried, the Bellas undertake several team building exercises that result in s’mores, bear traps and a romantically over-the-top serenade by Fat Amy (Rebel Wilson), but most importantly, finally rediscovering their harmony.

The movie definitely won’t disappoint 'Pitch' fans. All the characters we’ve grown to love are now all grown up and are ready to take on the world. Our favourite relationships have blossomed and some more unusual ones have developed. The a capella performances incorporate some modern day favourites and some good ol’ classics, as well as some smash originals and even a couple of Christmas carols. More importantly, the 'riff-off' that mesmerised audiences in the first movie will challenge the a capella groups once again, this time with higher stakes and bigger competition. And to top it off, the classic Cup Song originally performed by Kendrick will make a fabulous reappearance.

Hilarious from start to finish, your sides will hurt from the abundance of comical banter and cringe-worthy comments that are so wrong they’re right. If you’re a Rebel fan, 'Pitch Perfect 2' has ensured that there is plenty more rebeling Rebel in this one, with a vast majority of the humour coming from the Fat Amy we all fell in love with in the original.
Among the laughs, you’ll follow the emotional rollercoaster as the girls confront the end of an era with their graduation posing the reality that in mere months they will no longer be a part of the Barden Bellas.
