Food, fun and flicks… American Express Openair Cinemas is bringing more than movies to Brisbane and the Gold Coast this spring.
Running through October, expect an exciting festival programme filled with indulgent dishes, live entertainment and an array of highly anticipated flicks.
Italian restaurant, Salt Meats Cheese will host a series of alfresco dinners completed with a three-course meal paired with wine at three pop-up events at each location. Sharing a passion for cooking, head chefs, Stefano De Blasi and Edoardo Perlo will be serving up their signature Truffle Pecorino Pasta as well as their arancini antipasti and wood-fired pizzas.
Fancy a drink? A cocktail bar serving 4Pines craft beer and Giesen Wine will be on site.
Before each feature film, an array of alternative entertainment including live music and DJ performances will be in full swing.
As well as this, guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a master class on knitting and macramé, style it like a pro with a hands-on hair braiding tutorial and ‘Pimp A Pineapple’ over at Crafty Corner.
Dog enthusiasts? Doggy Dates will allow guests to pat a pooch during the movies, with all proceeds directly going to the RSPCA.
This year’s flicks are a mix of box office hits, highly anticipated new releases and cult classics. Films such as, ‘Logan Lucky’, ‘The Big Sick’, ‘Battle Of The Sexes’, ‘It’, ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle’, ‘Blade Runner’ and ‘The Rocky Horror Picture Show’ will be playing.
To ensure a comfortable experience, guests will be able to rent beanbags and blankets out during the film.
